For our New Year trip to Budapest, Hungary we stayed at the stunning architectural masterpeice Boscolo Budapest.
The hotel is situated in the old offices of the New York Life Insurance Company that was built in the 1890s. It took five years for the Boscolo Group to restore and renovate the old building to its current splendour. The hotel was opened in 2006.
On the ground floor, the hotel is home to the New York Café, which was originally opened in 1894. It is a tourist attraction of its own. I noticed people were queuing all day for a table – but don’t worry – there a special tables set aside to ensure hotel guests have a table when they want.
Quite spectacular, like the rest of the hotel – it’s the perfect place for breakfast or lunch, and definitely the appropriate place for champagne, coffee & cake.
